You will probably have noticed that I've uploaded practically nothing since I got here.
"But Steve, aren't you on a photography course?" Why yes loyal subject I am. To answer your question, the majority of my lectures have been about theory, semiotics, and John Berger (a man who is extremely dull and turns photography into philosophy). I do have practical lessons, and other than what I've already uploaded since being here, I havent done much else in my digital class yet (we do have projects in class, just those photos are shite and part of a group). Also, my other practical is darkroom. And I don't have a scanner here.
I do plan on getting some digital work done over the next few weeks on projects though. And as we speak, I'm working on a brand new painting! A Little different from the previous graffiti/BigDoodles style work. Working more at combinging that and my original Ashley Wood inspired work. It's a pretty surreal and conceptual piece like the others, and the original base layer looked like bird poop, but you can't really see that any more now...Just didn't want a white canvas showing through.
Another problem of being a student is that I do not have enough money to even take advantage of the deal that DA are doing on prints right now...sucks when the only one I want is the only one currently in my wishlist. Or enough money to buy the new Ashley Wood book! The world of art taunts me right now!
Steve.
